چکیده
Footing foundations are sometimes built on sloping grounds of natural sand which is highly anisotropic. The anisotropic mechanical behaviour can significantly influence the bearing capacity a foundation and failure mechanism its supporting slope. Neglecting anisotropy may lead to overestimated under-design foundations. A numerical investigation response slope under strip footing presented, placing special focus effect anisotropy. critical state model accounting for fabric evolution used. nonlocal method has been used regularize mesh-dependency solutions. Failure mechanism and soil deformation pattern of soil beneath interfering square footings
In this research, the variation of ultimate bearing capacity, failure mechanism and deformation pattern of soil beneath two closely square footings have been studied using numerical methods. It is assumed that the adjacent footings are constructed on the surface of sand. The presented numerical analyses are based on explicit-finite-difference code, FLAC3D. The elasto-plastic behavior of soil is...
متن کاملSeismic Bearing Capacity of Strip Footings on Pile-Stabilized Slopes
This paper develops an analytical method to calculate seismic bearing capacity of a strip footing, which is located on a slope reinforced with rows of pile. The resistance of passive pile is determined based on normal and shear stress of the soil around the pile, which is then compared to other analytical methods. This comparison indicates an acceptable agreement. The variants of the study incl...
متن کاملon translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels
phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...

In the present investigation, two dimensional elastoplastic finite element analysis was conducted to assess the deformation characteristics of Al 1100 alloy during continuous confined strip shearing (C2S2) process. The results of simulations showed that the plastic strain distribution across the deformed sample is non-uniform irrespective of the amount of friction and C2S2 die angle. The most u...
